Laundry Day

No sheets on her bed, so she napped on ours. Amongst all of her clean laundry.

Is it bad...?

Is it bad that I kept taking pictures of Avery while she was crying? I've been trying to get a pic of the pouty lip, but she's too quick for me. Here's how tummy-time goes for her:

Starting out okay

Getting a little irritated

Rubbing the eye

Quite distraught

Begging me to quit taking pictures and just roll her over already

Sorry for the blurry photos - she was moving a lot.

And why do I have to roll her over after tummy time? Because my girl can only roll one direction. That's right - she's rolling now!!! From her back to her tummy. Unlike most babies who go from tummy to back first. She's so advanced, doing the hard one first. Yes, of course I think my baby is smarter than all other babies. I'll post a video later of the actual rolling action.

She's so funny, because she absolutely DESPISES tummy time, if I make her do it. But if she rolls to it herself, she'll smile and play for up to ten minutes before getting fussy. I think we have a strong-willed, independent child on our hands.

She's also blowing bubbles now. Too cute.

Loving Her

She can wear a hair clip now.

Loves her Bumbo - though I have to keep a close eye on her because she's quite wiggly in it. She kept trying to turn around and lean herself too far to the side.
Thanks Uncle David and Aunt Julie for her great onesie!!

Praise

Luke got a promotion at work today! We've been a little stressed lately, worrying about finances. It keeps me up at night, praying. But God is ever faithful, providing for His own, and has come through for us as always. We are so thankful for this. Now we need to do some more praying to figure out some things.

4 Months Old!

Today is Avery's 4 month birthday. I had a little fun with the pics this time, since I haven't been faithful about taking pictures on her actual month-birthdays.

A Day in the Life...

I, Avery Jane, live a very busy life. These days I'm once again sleeping 10-12 hours every night, to make Mom and Dad happy. But a couple weeks ago, I liked to wake up at 4 am EVERY morning, just to keep them on their toes. We can't have them getting lazy, can we? And to keep things interesting, I have decided to wage war on naps, since I'm sleeping so well at night and all. I have to teach Mom and Dad that they can't have everything they want.

My new favorite toys are my hands; I love to suck on them constantly. In fact, I'll suck on anything that comes in contact with my mouth, like the burp rag I just spit up all over, Dad's arm while he's giving me a bath, my playtime mat, the list goes on.

I tricked the parents into thinking I was going to roll over very soon, but I've lost interest. They'll just have to keep waiting. I'm in no hurry. But they still insist on making me do tummy time. Seriously?! I hate this guys. Please stop. I like the bald spot on the back of my head, and if I don't spend more time on my back, it'll disappear.

I wake up around 7, for breakfast, then play for about an hour, and then I like to take a nap, although I don't always go down without a fight. Then I'm up to eat again and play with Mom. The cycle continues - eat, play, sleep. I don't like afternoons, and I especially don't like letting Mom and Dad eat a hot meal at a decent time. I usually take Dad on a walk during these times. But yesterday I got to "swim" in a bucket, while the puppy drank my pool water. And, check out Mom's new haircut!Ah, this is the life!
Then, after swimming or walking, I get a bath, another meal, and then off to bed!

Avery's Room

I have a lot of catching up to do! We've been busy and distracted, and our desktop computer is in need of repair, so uploading pictures has been put off until now.

But finally! Pictures of the nursery - I'm still working on some details, tweaking the design, but I think design is an ever-evolving process anyways, don't you?
