70 Years

We recently went to Houston to celebrate my grandparents' birthdays - they both are turning 70 this year. I didn't realize Luke had already uploaded pics of the party until just yesterday, so here are a few for you to enjoy! I'll probably put some more on our family blog.

You'll notice my Uncle Dave with the camcorder - he always has that thing in hand when he comes for a visit. I've never seen the videos, but if you were to get a hold of any of them from over the years, then who knows what awkward stage you'd see me in!

Luke's artistic attempt at capturing one of my yummy homemade cookies. You'll notice my uncle and aunt staring longingly in the background at the cookie. Actually, you can't really see their real faces, but I know they want that cookie.

I have no idea what I'm doing here, but isn't my grandma cute?

Rainy Days

I love waking up to the sound of rain. It means that our dog Molly will be extra good that day, because rain and thunder scare her. She hides in our bathroom, curled up in a little ball.

I met up with Crystal and Skyler today for coffee - she and Jonathan and baby Skyler moved here recently and live about 10 minutes down the road from us. It's so nice to have them nearby. Hopefully we'll get to know them better, and I love having a girlfriend to talk to again. Still haven't quite connected with the gals down here in Austin. I think it's a different kind of crowd - more career focused perhaps?

Now I'm back at home, enjoying the rain and the quiet house. Luke and I are planning a road trip to New York with our moms at the beginning of August. We'll drive on the weekends and spend the weekdays in the city. We're hoping to catch a Broadway show or two, visit Chelsea Market, eat good food in Chinatown, do more of the real New York thing rather than see all of the tourist attractions again. We'll also visit the French Culinary Institute up there, to see the facilities and have dinner in their restaurant. Super excited about this trip!!!

:)

I can't sleep tonight, and I have to be up at 5 am for work. This is not a good thing! But I'm so excited about nothing in particular and everything all at once...it feels like big things are coming are way, although I'm not quite sure what they might be. It seems like God has something in the works, and it feels like the night before Christmas when I was a kid and could hardly contain my excitement for what was to come the next morning. I just wish I knew when I was going to find out what it is! I love this feeling, but I can't stand that it keeps me awake when I have to be up before the sun rises.

2 Years

Yesterday Luke and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. God has been faithful and we have seen His hand in our marriage. I am so thankful for my husband, for his patience and sweetness, for the way he leads and trusts and hopes in God's continued faithfulness.

I experimented with some of the settings on my camera. I'm a terrible photographer...have no eye for design with pics and no skills to capture them in a unique way.

After Graduation

Lela's Graduation Day

We spent our time waiting for the graduation to start by taking random pics with the family. Peyton made goofy faces in all of them.

Pics

I didn't quite get these up right when we got back to Austin, as Mom has kindly pointed out in the comments section. But here they are finally! I'll just post some highlights, since it's really about 60 or 70 pics total. These are pics that I found on my new camera (birthday gift). Luke went around with this sign taking pics of everyone. The little girl is Brian's daughter.
